Another babe

This one's got me worried - it is very young and the mom is nowhere to be found. Should I intervene?

Don't intervene! The owl told me he's hungry :-)

How long has the mom been MIA? If it has only been a day or so the fawn should be fine. Moms leave the kids in a safe spot and come back for them later on after they've gone off to eat or whatever it is they do.

Our dogs played with a fawn a couple of weeks ago while they were hiking with Andrew! They came across it all alone left waiting for mom to return.

it looks scared to me...as if its aware of your presence and believes that if it doesn't look at you, you wont see it either ....what a gentle being. :)

My friend Candy has occasionally found babies like this in Ohio. After a while, if Mama doesn't return, she'll call the Wildlife people who come and take the baby and hand-rear it. Do keep us posted.

Is there anything cuter than this baby? I would be all over it if I was there. Couldn't help myself. I miss the wildlife so much. The only kind we have here are the young men who party every week end.

Amanda - the fawn was hanging around all alone for a day and a half. Then she disappeared...
Unless I see her again, I will think the worse.

What a cute baby! He looks adorable and alone and I think you should intervene and take care of him.

Keep a postive mind (and outlook). Let's hope the mother came and they left together. You have poachers there?

I wish you and the fawn luck.

So, now I discovered this second blog, with music and everything!!

Another kind of nature than Florida, that's for sure. Your deck looks just too nice! Lycky you are!

You asked on my blog if I can find something less attractive to show from France. You are right, maybe I should; it reminds me about my remarks about the almost "too nice" Naples and you came back with some less attractive details.

I think I have found something not so nice to show. Probably on my blog tomorrow!

I think you should wait...mom may be watching you as you take the picture. Did she come back?
