I have never in my life seen or heard of a butterfly preserve.

Did you get any photos? Most of my butterfly shots are serendipitous -- attempts to track them just don't work for me.
I've been to one butterfly preserve, for monarchs in the Monterey Bay area.

i will not be surprised to find people hunting butterflies with guns. Looks like a sign board for cowboys.
